I’m Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Center for Applied Ethics at the University of Wisconsin, Stout. I work in applied ethics (especially the abortion debate), philosophy of religion, and the philosophy of David Hume.

My main research interest at present is a host of issues surrounding moral equality and moral status. What is the basis and foundation of human equality? How can we make sense of it when people differ so drastically in terms of the properties we think constitutive of moral status? In addition, I have applied this work to central issues in the abortion debate, such as the pro-life (equality) argument, and the embryo rescue case.
